DPMF has facilitated workshops on the theme ‘Social Policy, Development and Governance in Kenya’. The objective of the workshops was to open up a debate on social policy in Kenya, the extent to which these policies have or have not contributed to development and the critical role of governance in integrating social policy as part of a development strategy. They relied on both local scholars/researchers, policy makers and civil society activists. One of the products of these workshops is a number of papers interrogating various issues both in the Kenyan and regional context and providing reflections on policy alternatives.
