ADDIS PROGRAMS

Since its inception in March 1995, DPMF has carried out important activities aimed at consolidating and institutionalizing democracy in Africa by focussing on enhancing the institutional capacity of the policy management process in African countries. It targets its activities on three critical groups policy makers and implementers (politicians and senior civil servants), civil society groups concerned with the consolidation of democracy and governance in Africa, and national civil servants training institutes and researchers (from universities, think tanks and consultancies). More recently DPMF has extended its activities to the area of conflicts, their management, resolution and particularly the post conflict reconstruction process. Its activities are focussed on sensitization workshops (both regional and national), on facilitating and supporting national policy forums, on research, on publications and information service. At the same time DPMF has created and is expanding a pan-African network of concerned individuals and institutions who want to enhance the policy process in African countries.
